Multicultural Dance in New Zealand

This video is from a Multi Cultural show in Christchurch, New Zealand. This event was produced by Taz Mukorombindo, CEO of Canterbury Business Association. Ra McRostie from Koru Community Dance Theatre taught the dances. Ra is a dancer and teaches African dance classes throughout New Zealand.

The dancers featured here have been attended Ra’s African dance classes in 2009. The drum rhythms are being played by members of Djembe Tahi, a West African drumming group from Christchurch. Driba, a social dance from Ghana is the first dance. The second dance is Nyeeka, a healing dance from Zimbabwe.
