The Occult Power Behind Colonialism

There is an assumption among Africans that the reason that our continent was taken over was because our for bearers did not have superior weapons. It is certainly true because the British often expansively bragged “We have the maxim gun and they have not.” The Maxim gun was the ultimate tool of oppression and suppression of the African by the European. However, in addition military power, there was a higher power that allowed colonialism to sink in the African psyche and today that power is still alive and well in African.

For colonialism to succeed and take root and for its ideas to still be dominant to this day, Europeans used military and spiritual powers.

In the Holy Bible the Christian holy book in Jude 1 the scripture reads:

Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries. 9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” 10 But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.

What I would like to draw your attention to is that the devil contended for the dead body of Moses. What value is there in a dead body? According to the research from an African Christian Spiritual advisor there is a power in body of a powerful person. It is with this spiritual knowledge that colonialists used to the people that they conquered.

United States of America

In the United States Geronimo the Native American who fought colonialism when he died the colonialists took his body for rituals because they wanted the power and authority that his body possessed as he was the leader of the Native American tribe. In the early 2000s, the descendants of Geronimo sued the Bush family in American court. The Bush family had in their possession the bones of Geronimo. To date, the Bushes ascended to the highest level of political power in the United States a Senator Preston Bush, a Governor Jeb Bush and 2 Presidents of the United States while they possessed the skeletons and bones of Geronimo.

Ethiopia

Ethiopian Emperor Tewodros trusted the British and let them into in his kingdom. His kindness was taken for weakness and the British army invaded the kingdom in 1868 at the battle of Maqdala.  Ethiopia was fighting to maintain its sovereignty and when the Emperor fell on his own spear rather than become a subject of the imperial empire they kidnapped his son as a prisoner of war and shipped him to England.

The British plundered the religious houses of worship and manuscripts, crowns, crosses, chalices, religious icons, royal and ecclesiastic vestments, shields and arms from the Ethiopian empire. When Emperor Tewodros’ son died mysteriously his bones were taken by Windsor castle which was unusual for a prisoner of war. It was believed that the bones of the prince possessed special powers which were harnessed by the colonial queen Victoria. Since 2007, the Ethiopian government has been trying to get these treasures back but to no avail.

Zimbabwe

In Zimbabwe, Mashayamombe and Chinengundo fought one of the fiercest battles in all colonial history. Oral tradition and legend has it that they fought so fiercely against the colonialists that the area to this day is believed to be sacred. The battle was so ferocious that the British never went back to take that land outside Chegutu. When Mashayamombe and Chinengundo died the British stole their bodies and took them to England to harness the power of these two warriors. In 2018, the Zimbabwean government demanded the return of the bones of these two leaders and much negotiation they have agreed to return the bones to Zimbabwe.

In many parts of Africa, the colonial British, French, Portuguese and Belgian governments would take sacred texts, religious artifacts and bodies of powerful leaders in their quest to subdue the continent. While some things have been returned, a good number remain in Europe.
